A majority of 73 percent of online retailers and service providers in Italy are satisfied by services provided by technology partners and agencies. At least 71 percent are also satisfied by their payment systems. However, most of the companies are dissatisfied with innovative technologies, like AI.
These data come from new research by Casaleggio Associati, a digital consultancy agency in Italy. The research called ‘The partners of Ecommerce companies’ analyzes partners and services that ecommerce businesses in Italy often choose. The results were presented at the Italian Commerce Summit in October.
Dissatisfied with innovative technologies
According to the research, the highest satisfaction rates were given to technology partners and agencies (73 percent), payment systems (71 percent), marketing services (62 percent) and advertising services (64 percent). The lowest satisfaction rate was seen in areas related to innovative technologies (33 percent).
Investing in new suppliers
Almost all businesses said that they will invest in new suppliers in the next year. Especially in innovative technologies (69 percent indicated ‘high’ or ‘new’ investment). Ecommerce platforms (65 percent) and marketing services (60 percent) were also often named as services that will receive higher investments than ordinary operations.
‘Companies often invest in new suppliers because of the need for innovation’
The companies were also asked about their reasons for seeking new suppliers. Most of them named the need for innovation (56 percent). The need to reduce costs (38 percent) was also often mentioned. Market or customer expansion (34 percent), technical problems or limitations (33 percent), service deterioration (25 percent), poor support (18 percent), and relationship deterioration (14 percent) were other common factors.
