Our bots are not just revolutionizing the way students dine on campus — they’re also winning hearts and becoming true campus celebrities.
Let’s start with Henry Banning from Oregon State University, a student who took his love for Starship Robots to another level. He transformed his car into an incredible tribute to our service, aptly named the “Starship Mobile.” Covered in vibrant Starship decals, his car turns heads and brings smiles wherever it goes. As Henry puts it, “I kept seeing them around campus and thought, ‘Of course, we could do that, it would be cool!’”
Believe it or not, Henry’s dedication even caught the attention of our Chief Commercial Officer, Ryan Tuohy, saying, “We’ve witnessed a huge amount of admiration for our robots since we launched GMU, but this new Starship car is definitely above and beyond, we love it. It’s always great to see the enthusiasm students have for our robots!” It’s safe to say that Henry’s Starship Mobile has become an iconic symbol of the special bond between students and our robots.
But love for Starship Robots extends far beyond Oregon State University. Meet Eric Aaberg, a University of Texas Dallas graduate, and the lively UTD Spirit captain. Eric shared an adorable photo of himself and Temoc, the beloved mascot of UT Dallas, celebrating graduation with our robots. In his heartfelt message, Eric expressed his deep admiration for Starship bots, saying, “Thanks for always being such a cute part of the campus culture 💕.”
It’s not just about convenience — Starship Robots have become indispensable companions for students like Taylor Kitchen from Bowling Green State University. Throughout her demanding years of college, these robots have been there to deliver when she needed it the most. As Taylor gratefully puts it, “Thanks to Starship for helping me get through college with all those last-minute and much-needed food deliveries!” They’re like reliable friends, ensuring no student goes hungry or misses out on a taste of home.
And when the COVID-19 pandemic confined students to their dorms and study spaces, our robots were there to bring comfort and a sense of connection.
Mercy Trahan, a graduate from Ole Miss, reflects on their impact, saying, “Starship was such a blessing during COVID when I couldn’t leave the dorms and when I couldn’t leave my study space! I’m grateful for these cute little robots that reside on campus!”
